Seahawks release pass-rusher DE Marcus Smith for ‘some personal reasons,’ sign LB Erik Walden

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seahawks added veteran linebacker Erik Walden on Friday and terminated the contract of defensive end Marcus Smith. Smith spent 2017 with Seattle and re-signed with the team this offseason on a one-year deal. However, the former Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick had missed the last few days of practice due to a personal matter and the Seahawks released him so he could tend to those issues. “Really, there were some personal reasons that came into it,” […]

Rapoport said the injury includes a break […]

SEATTLE – Sebastian Janikowski has been around awhile. “Seems like he’s been kicking since 1912 or something like that,” Seahawks general manager John Schneider said recently of the prolific place kicker known for his big leg. While it hasn’t quite been that long, Janikowski is preparing for his 18th NFL season after missing all of 2017 with a back injury. The 40-year-old from Poland signed with the Seahawks in the offseason after spending his entire career with the Oakland Raiders. […]

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks’ first game in Europe has been moved to a new venue. NFL UK acknowledged last month, however, that construction issues could force the game to be moved. NFL UK tweeted on Monday that the game will now be played at London’s Wembley Stadium instead. “We will be sharing ticketing information later this week,” […]
