Trump administration will appeal DACA ruling to Supreme Court

The Trump administration said Tuesday it will ask the Supreme Court to review a federal judge’s ruling from last week that blocked President Donald Trump’s effort to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The Justice Department filed a notice of appeal with the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals and said it will also take the “rare step” of filing a petition with the Supreme Court. “It defies both law and commons sense for DACA — an entirely discretionary non-enforcement […]

It was a mess up that put the islands, and our entire country, on edge for an astounding 38 minutes. “We put the baby in the bathroom, didn’t know what else to do,” tourist Adnan Mesiwala told media. “They’re literally going through this feeling of, ‘I’ve got minutes to find my loved […]

President Donald Trump on Friday denied describing certain nations as “shithole countries” during a meeting in which he rejected a bipartisan deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. He also denied demanding that Haitians be removed from negotiations about protected status for people from certain countries. “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. New Trump administration rule could force workers to share their tips

The Trump administration is moving to scrap another Obama-era rule. This one affects workers who get paid in tips. Under a Labor Department rule change proposed Monday, employers could ask employees who earn a salary of at least the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, and also earn tips, to pool the tip money and share it with colleagues who don’t earn gratuities. That practice was barred in 2011 by President Obama’s Labor Department, which said that tips belonged […]
